Rhoda Goldman Plaza
The development of Rhoda Goldman Plaza culminated more than a decade of work within San Francisco's Jewish community to co-locate the headquarters of Jewish Family & Children Services (JFCS) with a new assisted living community for seniors on property contributed jointly by JFCS and the Mt. Zion Health Fund.
Under contract with Holliday Development, Ben Golvin managed all aspects of the development, design and construction process, coordinating the work of the design team, general contractor, interior designer, financing consultant, management company and the owner's board of directors and staff. Both components of the new building were completed and licensing obtained in time for the scheduled opening.
The ambitious program for this complex building involved the adaptive re-use of the historic brick JFCS building and its integration with the newly constructed seven-story concrete structure, which contains both the residential units and the 30,000 square-foot JFCS administrative headquarters.
